We really liked this product, and thought it cleaned well, until the clean water chamber started to break in several places due to the plastic being too thin and flimsy. For that alone I would not recommend it.

It is extremely heavy. I cleaned two fairly small swaths of carpeting, by the entry way and in front of the sofa and my hand was sore for 4 days. The hose attachment is cumbersome; it doesn't stay on and just adds to the weight of the machine. I took mine off. The brush is hard to take off to clean; there is nothing to grasp to pull it off. The lint cleaner on the bottom of the machine...could they have made it any harder to pull out? My dog threw up. The mess was cleaned as much as possible by hand first, using Nature's Miracle, allowed to dry, then I cleaned it using Hoover Pet formula, going over the area at least six times and then rinsing. It still smells like throw up. I'm not impressed.

We have had our Berber carpet cleaned a number of times by 3 or 4 different companies and thought the results were OK. But we bought this Hoover and the results were outstanding. This machine cleaned and raised the napp on this 10 year old carpet beyond expecations. The Hoover dried the carpet so well you could walk on it within the hour. Just follow Mfg. directions and you will never use an outside cleaning firm again. Although it took some time, the effort was well worth the price.

Have two golden retrievers. Bought this shampooer at the recommendation of the target employee. Within the first year the tank began to leak. I emailed the company and on first reply they said I could buy another one for around 40 dollars. After a less-than-nice email I received one via mail. Less than a year after that the brushes stopped spinning, conveniently after the warranty ran out. Do not buy this machine. My parents have a dirt devil and although it does not clean as well on the first go, it has lasted longer than 18 months (about 5 years) reliably.

I purchased this product a little over a year and a half ago. The first 2 times I used it it worked very well. After owning the cleaner about 13 months, I went to use it a third time and the brushes didn't rotate any more. I ALWAYS clean the machine and dry everything before storing, only use Hoover soap, and baby the darn thing. I paid $60 to get it fixed, used it once, cleaned and stored it. I pulled it out to use a couple days ago and the brushes won't spin again. I contacted customer no service when it broke the first time and was told "sorry, the warranty expired last month." I contacted customer no service at Hoover again this time, and haven't heard a peep. I will NEVER buy from this company again. What a $300 rip off.
