Smallville Episode Guide

Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor

Eric Johnson as Whitney Fordman

This episode features a group of ex-jocks who are now engaged with a life of crime. Using the meteorites they tattoo themselves and then for a limited time they can pass right through anything.
At the beginning of this episode, Lex Luthor is their target. Clark and Chloe just happen to be there so Chloe can interview Lex Luthor for the paper. Unfortunately, the kryptonite the bad guys use for their tattoos weaken Clark, and Chloe ends up going through a window several feet above the ground.

The gang of thugs start to run out of time; the more they use the kryptonite the less time they can walk through walls. They decide they need fresh blood. Whitney  becomes their next prospect. The gang also figures out that one of the discs they stole from Lex Luthor has information that Lex is stealing from his dad. Information they can blackmail Lex Luthor with.

Whitney loses his scholarship and becomes increasingly discouraged about his future. At Whitney's father's store, Whitney gets invited to a party by the thugs and gets talked into a tattoo. The gang tests the tattoo out by throwing Whitney in front of a truck. Whitney is extremely excited when the truck passes right through him without any harm.

Meanwhile, Chloe starts to recover in the hospital and tells Clark about the tattoo one of the thugs had. Chloe also makes an interesting comment, "Clark Kent investigative reporter, has a nice ring to it."

Clark goes into Whitney's store and discovers Whitney's tattoo. Back at the farm, Clark tells Lana that Whitney has lost his scholarship. Clark shows Lana yearbook pictures of Whitney's new friends. Clark suspects the jocks Whitney is hanging out with are up to no good. He doesn't know how bad they are yet.

The jocks hook up with Whitney after he closes up the store. Clark watches from a distance. The gang meets Lex to get the blackmail money, but Lex doesn't bring the money. Clark shows up just in time to recognize Whitney, but is still powerless due to the kryptonite. Afterward, Lex admits to Clark that he is being blackmailed.

Clark meets up with Whitney who agrees to help him get Lex's disc back at the bad guys lair. Unfortunately, the bad guys show up. The thugs take Whitney to an abandoned warehouse. The leader points a gun at Whitney and his partner pushes a button releasing a car that falls onto him. Clark grabs Whitney and pulls him out of the way, but the thug's tattoo had worn off and he gets crushed. The rest of the gang goes to jail.

With the gang in jail, everything is back to normal.  Lex is off the hook, and Chloe is back on her feet again. All is well in Smallville again.
