Corin Nemec as Jude Royce

Michael Rosenbaum Lex Luthor

This episode begins with Lex Luthor being hung upside down and threatened by a man who should be dead. We then  flashback to Lex Luthor's past at a club called Zero in Metropolis. Lex is there with a girl named Amanda, who is celebrating her engagement. Amanda runs into her fiancι Jude Royce, who is sitting with two girls. She throws the ring back at him. And he accuses Lex of setting him up. He pulls a knife out and stabs Luthor and one of the bouncers pulls out a gun and shoots Jude.

We then are brought back one week earlier, before Lex is kidnapped. Trouble is about to brew for Clark as a school project has Chloe about to do a paper on Clark's past. And at Lana's new project, the old theatre Lana is renovating with the help of Lex Luthor, a mysterious man appears who looks a lot like the guy we saw shot in Metropolis three years ago in the flashback scene. The man warns Lana to stay away from Luthor.

The bouncer from Club Zero shows up claiming he saw Jude. Lex is upset telling him they had an agreement for them to have no contact. He gives the man a key to an apartment in Metropolis and tells him to go there.

Back at the farm, Chloe starts asking the Kents questions  about Clark's adoption for the class project. This makes the Kents very uncomfortable. Clark takes off to question Lana for his school project. At the old theatre, Clark, Lana, and Lex find a man lying on the ground, and a box wrapped up with a note that says "zero consequences". Zero consequences was the slogan from Club Zero. Inside the box is the hand of the bouncer.

Chloe continues to pry into Clark's past. Clark lets her know he doesn't appreciate it her prying into his private life.

Back to Lex we go into another flashback to right after the shooting of Jude Royce. Sam Falin is there, Lex tells him that he shot Jude. Sam Falin proceeds to cover everything up, as he often did.

Suddenly, the flashback is over and Lex has a gun pointed at him by someone who looks just like Jude Royce. Clark runs in and Jude is mysteriously gone. Clark asks Lex about Club Zero and Lex asks him to stay out of it.

Back at the farm, Clark asks Jonathan Kent if there was anything illegal about his adoption. Jonathan replies that it was legal but gives the impression there was something strange about it besides the fact that Clark is an alien. While discussing the adoption, Jonathan and Clark discover an entire herd of their cattle dead. Luthor Corp chemical barrels are everywhere. It appears Jude has struck again. This time to make Lex Luthor look bad.

Lex Luthor comes to the scene, and offers to pay for the herd, but Jonathan doesn't want to hear it. Lex goes behind a van to talk to a C.E.P. guy who turns out to be Jude. He kidnaps Lex and takes off. Now we are in the present where Lex is strung upside down. Thanks to Chloe's investigative abilities, Clark figures out what's going on. Clark heads to Metropolis and Club Zero.

Jude points a gun at Lex, and tells Lex, " Daddy can't save you this time Lex." A shot is fired but not from Jude, he falls to the ground. Another man appears who turns out to be Amanda's brother. He explains to Lex that he wants revenge for all that happened to Amanda. Amanda had apparently committed suicide. Losing Jude had devastated her. Amanda's brother then explained that he had found a guy who looked exactly like Jude to terrorize Luthor.

The last flashback, Lex offers the entire truth to Amanda's brother. It wasn't the bouncer or Luthor who shot Jude. It was Amanda. Clark rushes in an knocks Amanda's brother down so fast Lex doesn't know it.

With the bad guy taken care of, the old theatre now a cafe, is open for business and Lana at least is happy in Smallville.
