Jitters Smallville Episode Guide

At the beginning of this episode, Jonathan Kent is preparing his truck to take Martha Kent to Metropolis for their anniversary, leaving Clark home alone.

The scene switches to Earl Jenkins visiting his baby in secret, telling the child Daddy's going to get better. He disappears before his wife can see him. Earl then makes his way to Luther Corp to see Lionel Luthor. The janitor refuses to let him in. Earl goes in a panic and starts shaking beyond anything a human being has ever done before. The janitor goes outside to find out what's wrong. Earl grabs the janitor to try and stop his shakes. His shaking is so terrible it kills the janitor.

Meanwhile Clark plans a small party at his housewith Chloe, Lana, Pete, and maybe a couple of others. That night, however, the party is anything but small. This leads to an hilarious scene where a kid says he is going to hurl and Clark runs in super speed and grabs something for the kid to puke in before he makes a mess in his parent's home. To add to Clark's worries, Lex Luthor decides to have a gigantic fireworks display outside. Lex wants to help Clark  make a great impression with Lana.

Lana and Whitney go outside where they discover Earl Jenkins. Earl by the way used to work for the Kent's on the farm. Earl starts shaking again and Clark yells for someone to call an ambulance. Earl goes to the hospital. The police arrive to take Earl and he has another attack knocking Clark down.

The next day, Clark cleans the house in super speed, unfortunately he is too late, as his parents watch the whole thing. The only thing worse than kryptonite is angry parents.

Earl

Jonathan Kent goes the hospital to see Earl who tells him he has to get in the Luthor Plant or he is going to die. Clark offers to look around as he is going to the plant with his class on a field trip.

At the Plant, the class is led around by Chloe Sullivan's father much to Chloe's the embarrassment. Earl somehow makes it to the plant too, without being brought to jail straight from the hospital. Once there he finds that an entire floor at the Luthor Plant has seemingly disappeared, where once there was an elevator, there is nothing but a wall.

Earl busts up the class trip, and grabs Chloe's father with a gun demanding to be shown level three.
Outside, a crowd gathers as tensions mount. Lex arrives and advises Jonathan and Martha that Earl's demands to see level three are a problem since there is no level three. Lionel Luthor shows up and Lex asks him if there really is no level three. Lionel suspiciously denies the existence of level three.

Earl starts the jitters again while holding a methane gas valve. He accidentally rips it off starting a potentially explosive methane gas leak.

Lex decides to go in. He is able to talk Earl into letting the class go free while keeping him hostage. Meanwhile, the methane gas levels continuously increase. Lionel Luthor is advised that the gas levels are getting too high and the fire doors will have to be closed even though his son Lex is still in the building. Lionel gives the go ahead to shut the doors leaving Clark and Lex trapped. Clark is able to seal the gas leak with his bare hand. Lex is taken to where the level three was. Clark had knocked down the wall. Earl and Lex go inside but everything is gone.

Earl tells Lex that level three used to contain a field of corn sprayed with green spray. Earl goes into the jitters again causing the scaffolding that  they are standing on to start to collapse. Clark pulls Lex and Earl up before it collapses completely.

Outside, the Kents greet Clark with loving arms. Lex tells the press that Luthor Corp will pay for Earl's medical bills and rehabilitation. Lionel Luthor gives Lex a cold hug just for the sake of the press. Lex seems to ponder how his Dad had closed him into the building and lied about his knowledge of level three which almost lead to Lex's death. Lex looks sadly at the Kents, wishing he was surrounded by the same genuine love as Clark is by his parents.
