Smallville
episode: 9 Rogue
Rogue starts at the Metropolis Museum exhibit party with Lex Luthor, Clark Kent, and Lana Lang attending. Clark is studying at exhibit from Alexander the Great which happens to look a lot like his future Superman costume. He remarks to Lex that he "can't exactly see himself going into battle with something like that on his chest." Outside a crooked cop beats on someone demanding he retrieve files for him. Meanwhile, Clark Kent steps outside. A bus driver who is about to drive by has what looks to be a heart attack. The runaway bus heads straight for a homeless person and Clark jumps in front of it to stop it, which he does. But, unbeknownst to Clark, the crooked cop unfortunately sees the incident .
The principal suspends Chloe from the school newspaper, the Smallville Torch. He basically fires her for reporting too much on the weird happenings caused by the meteor rocks instead of the usual school events. The crooked cop is revealed to be Falin, a cop who was paid by Lex's father to fix situations for Lex in his wild teenage years. This is revealed when the cop meets with Lex in Smallville to get information on Clark. Next Clark is walking inside the barn when he sees a badge lying on the floor. Suddenly, a piece of very heavy farming equipment is dropped on him. Clark angrily shoves it aside, only to fall for the trap of revealing his strength for Falin who watches from upstairs. Clark is blackmailed into helping Falin with his crooked operations or else his secret will be revealed. Clark tells his parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, who are very upset by this. Lex warns Clark that Sam Falin is bad news. Meanwhile Jonathan meets with Falin. Jonathan tells Falin that he will not exploit his son, and later tells Falin that he will give him whatever he wants as long as he stays away from his family. Falin replies, " I want your son." Jonathan says "no". Falin threatens to tell the world Clark's secret, and remarks that Clark would become a freak in a jar. This sends Jonathan over the deep end and he slams Falin onto the table. Jonathan lets him go due to the watching crowd.
Lex talks his girlfriend Victoria into trying to take over her father's and his father's businesses. Meanwhile, Clark is confronted by Falin who forces him to steal some papers from internal affairs for him.
Clark has a plan though, instead of just handing over the papers he throws out the entire safe onto Falin's car, and calls the police. Unhappy by this Falin frames Jonathan with a dead body in the barn. Before leaving the farm with the police Clark yells "You're not taking him." You almost get the sense that Clark is going to lose control and the police are going to get more than they bargained for, but Jonathan calms him down and goes off to the jail. After everyone leaves Clark punches out a beam in the house, and Falin shows up to aggravate the situation. Falin basically tells Clark he framed Jonathan and Clark shoves up against the wall demanding that he get Jonathan out. Clark looks as if he could kill Falin but he doesn't. Clark goes to the jail to visit his father. Clark admits to Jonathan about having stolen the files for Falin. He also tells him about how he wanted to kill Falin. Jonathan's reaction is hilarious. He says to Clark in response to "I wanted to kill him." "But you didn't right?". As if he imagined Clark going nuts with his powers and tearing Falin to pieces. Listen Jonathan advises Clark that he cannot afford to lose his temper, and Clark tells his Dad that he doesn't want anybody to hurt his parents. Clark meets Lex, who offers to get a team of lawyers to get Clark's dad out of jail. Clark refuses Lex Luthor's help, and tells him to stay out of it, probably afraid Lex will learn the truth about his powers. Lex looks a bit hurt at his friends refusal for help. Falin picks Clark up at the farm for the next crime at the Metropolis Museum. Lex follows without being noticed. Falin wants Clark to steal jewels from the museum. Falin calls in a bomb threat to get the museum evacuated. Lex is outside with the guards who think the bomb is in a newspaper rack. Lex pulls out the box while Clark is ripping the steal bars off of the Alexander the Great exhibit for Falin. Lex pulls out a wind up alarm clock from the box.
After Falin has his fingerprints all over the Alexander exhibit filled with the jewels, he puts it into a satchel that Clark quickly grabs and hurls through the museum to the guards outside. Falin pulls out a gun shouting to Clark "You might be strong but your not bullet proof." This is probably the very first encounter Clark has with being on the receiving end of a gun. Clark dodges the bullet and runs off. Lex Luthor comes in with the armed guards who shoot Falin repeatedly. Lex asks Falin before he dies "Where's Clark?" Falin tells Lex where he can go and dies. The next day all charges are dropped probably due to Lex
Luthor. Chloe gets reinstated to the Smallville Torch, and Lex ponders
the surveilance tape from the museum. All he sees is a blur where Clark
used his super speed. Music from Rogue
