Come Clean

Lana was exhaused, the rush hour had finally passed at the Talon and she was able to have a sit down with a cozy coffee.

A smile instantly appeared on her face , when her favorite customer walked Through the door.

"Hey Clark! You staying long?"

"Sure, a coffee would be nice" Clark replied with a cheeky grin on his face.

As Lana made her way over to the coffee machine, Clark had a confused look on his face as his eyes wondered over to the corner table with a teenage girl endlessly rumiging through a telephone book.

"Hey Lana? You know who she is? She looks familiar"

"She was in here earlier, she Looked quite upset, cant say she looks any happier"

Lana Passed Clark the Boiling hot coffee cup and quickly went to see the girl.

"Hi I'm Lana Lang, can i get you anything"

"Urm, hey. I'm Issabelle Lu.. . Im Issabelle. No I'm fine for the minute i got a cup of tea"

Lana stared down worried, at the cold cup of tea On the table.

"you have been Looking through that for a while, who are you looking for if you don't mind

me asking. Maybe i could help you"

Isabelle looked up from the scruffy phone book, and realized Lana had a friendly face.

" I'm looking for Mr. Luthor"

"Lex or Lionel Luthor"

"Lex you know him?"

Lana was shocked, And took a seat next to Isabelle

The mansion up near the a31. And he owns this place. Your not from around here are you?"

"No, iv just come here to meet him, but he doesn't know im coming. "

"I'm sorry But Lex is away on business until Monday"

Isabelle rapidly picks up her things, Thanked Lana, and hurried out the door.

Lana got up slowly and shocked. Not knowing who Isabelle was, but knew there more to her than meets the eye.

She walked over and took a seat next to Clark

"she was Looking for lex, and had no idea of where he Lived, and she ran off like she was upset"

"want me to go after her? Make sure she is Okay"

"would you? Her name is isabelle. Dont you think she Looks a bit like.. never mind"

Clark ran out the door, and saw isabelle on the bench outside the Talon.

"Hi, im sorry for being rude but are you OK?"

Wiping the tears from her eyes,she stood up.

"your that guy from the talon. you were talking to Lana"

"Yes, Im clark Kent"

"Im Isabelle, can you give this to Lana ask her if she can pass it on for me. Its very important. And im not in town for long"

"sure I Can. Whets you last name?"

"Bye, thank you"

Clark watched her leave then went back inside.

" i just saw that Isabelle girl, she was pretty shook up but asked me to give you this. Can you give it to Lex when you see him next"

"sure"

He passed the envelope to Lana and she tucked it away in her back pocket.

An hour later, Lana decided to finally close the shop for a break and places a 'be right back' sign on the door, but a rough hand pushed the door back Open

"Lex, your back early. Wasn't meant to be here until Monday"

"Had a cancellation, Clark told me about the girl and said you have something for me?"

Lana reached into her pocket and passed him the envelope.

As lex carefully opened the letter, Lana looked on with curiosity.

"I gotta go, ill see you later." Lex told lana with worry in his voice.

Back at the mansion, Lex arrived with such anger. He stormed Into his fathers office and confronted him.

"Dad Why didnt you tell me about this? Is this some sort of joke? Because it isnt funny!"

Lex handed His father the letter he had Received. It read

Dear Mr Lex Luthor

16 years ago you had a relationship with a girl named Katherine McKay. You Knew she got pregnant, and you thought she had an abortion after she left you. Im Walking talking proof that she didn't. I would Like to meet you, as there is something i think you should Know. Your Father Knows my Number. Your Daughter Isabelle.

"Can you explain this to me Dad?"

Lionel stood up, with a huge grin on his face, he explained.

" Lex while i was in hospital last month I met Katherine. She was ill Lex, very Ill. She rememebred me and told me about Isabelle didn't believe her so I finally asked her if we could do a blood test to see if you and Isabelle were related. She agreed, and so did Isabelle. It was positive Lex. "

"You forget one thing dad, My dna. You didn't have any!"

" O Lex, but I did."

Lex Looked up confused

"you know While i was in hospital with a virus lex, the doctors wanted your blood to make sure you didnt have it. Excpet the doctor was a specialist, working for me"

"why would you go behind my back/? Why couldnt you just tell me. And what does isabelle want to tell me thats so important"

"Lana told me she saw her today, so I called Isabelle. She will be here at Six."

Lex fell onto the chair behind him and threw his head into his hands.so many possibilities crossed his mind. The text results were wrong, Katherine Lied.. But he Knew in his mind that there was no getting out of this one. He had no idea what to do. He stood up , grabbed his coat and head for the door.

"Lex? Where are you going? Issabelle will be here in a couple of hours"

Lex turned around with a cocky look on his face.

" thats your problem dad, you invited her, not me. I dont even Know the girl"

And with that he walked out and slammed the door behind him.

Lex had decided to turn to his trustworthy friend Clark. He drove up to Clarks Farm house with a roar. Clark immediately come out of his house full knowing who the loud car outside belonged to. He Took a long stare at Lex, and realised something was up.

"Lex? What is it?"

"Nothing, iv just come over for a friendly Visit, cant friends do that?"

"corse, you just look upset. Lex ?"

Lex didnt really want to hide his problem but he also didnt want to flaunt them, but he knew he could trust Clark.

" can we go inside Clark? I need To talk"

They Head for clarks Barn which clark had convertied into his own little Cosy den.

"Don't tell me, its about Isabelle isnt it lex?"

"Yes its about her and for someone I don't know at all, she's making my life pretty difficult at the moment."

"Who is she?"

"my dad done some researching, and O, she's my daughter clark. Im a dad."

Clark looked surprised, He knew there was more about isabelle ready to be told.

"Wow, what you gonna do?"

"Clark she is coming over tonight, she has something to tell me, you met her earlier. Can you come with me?"

Clark Laughs to himself.

"You want me to hold your hand?"

Lex didnt laugh, and didnt seem amused either

"Yes clark, in a matter of words."

Clark Smiled and Gave Lex a friendly hug on the shoulder.

"come inside Lex, mums made enough dinner for all of us"

Back at the mansion. Lionel was making sure everything was ready and in place for Isabelle's visit.

he was worried but exited at the same time. He picked up his office phone and gave Lex a call.

"Lex? Are you going to be home in time, first impresions are everything."

"On my way dad, O by the way, Clarks coming too"

"See you at 6, I'm on my way to pick her up now"

Lex Hung up his phone, he looks on at Clark nervously.

"ready Lex" Clark Said while picking up his coat

"Im always ready clark" Lex tried to hide his wrecked Face.

As lex and Clark arrived the house. Lex noticed his Dads car gone.

"He isn't back yet"

"don't worry lex, its gonna be fine"

"whO said im worried"

Lex couldnt wait to get back into his office, but his butler stopped him in his tracks.

"Sorry Mr Luthor but Your father has asked you to go to the Living room to wait for him"

Lex was worried, he knew his dad could take things way too far. The living area was all tidy and the best china was layed out for drinks. He went up to the Butler with an attitude

" what else has 'Dad' prepared for today?"

"nothing I know of Mr Luthor,"

"You can leave now"

The butler didnt like the way he was talked to but walked out with out saying a word.

Clark Took a seat while Lex Paced up and down the room.Thinking of things to say. The front door opened and Lex's Heart Sank. He Braced himself, brushed his jacket a bit, and stood by the living room door. His dad walked in holding Isabelle's Suitcase with the biggest smile on his face. Following him, was isabelle. Lex didnt know to say, Hi, welcome home? How have you been?

"Alexander, meet Isabelle Luthor."

Lex shook her hand gently.

"Hi, Im LEX Luthor, and this is.."

Clark Stood up , and went to shake her hand.

"we met earlier, How are you"

"As good as i can be clark, thanks for earlier. its nice to see a friendly face once in a while" Stuttered Isabelle

Clark gave her a friendly warm smile. Lex Hardly looked at her.

"Please Isabelle, sit down. i think we need to talk" Lex Pointed to the seating area and stood aside.

Isabelle and Lional took a seat on the sofa oppitite Lex.

" Im sorry, do you mind if we talk alone?" Issablle stuttered

" No love, dont worry. Come on Clark, lets leave them be." replied Lionol, hoping Lex and his daughter could hit it off.

Lex gave Clark a friendly nod,

"Cheers Clark."

"So isabelle, What is it that was so important you couldnt tell my father, or write in another letter."

Isabelle was shocked at his sarcasum.

"Lex this isnt easy. My mother, Katherine. While she was in hospital, she um she died. Your Father knew about it. But she was the only family i had and.."

Lex stood up and rudely interrupted her.

"and what? You need money for the funeral?"

"no I didn't come here for money, i came here for for family lex, "

Lex sat across from Isabelle with a stunned and upset look across his face

"Im sorry Isabelle, Im sorry im your biological father, but im not your dad. I dont know you, and i dont think its a very good idea that you get too cosy."

"Lex i just came here to talk"

"Isabelle, go home"

"So your just gonna forget i exist? cant we just talk about this I am your daughter after all!"

Lex stood up and passed isabelle her suitcase, then stood by the door. Isabelles eyes welled up.

"Im sorry Isabelle."

With that, isabelle slowly took her suitcase from his firm hands and scribbled a note on scrap peice of paper and left it infront of him. Then she slowly walked out the door, taking one last look at what could have been.

Lex noticed the paper, 'Ill be at the Talon for the next hour. Last chance.'. He screwed it up and threw it onto the floor. then stormed off to his office. As issabelle was leaving Lional caught up with her.

"What happened Isabelle? What did lex say to you"

Isabelle turned around and stared him in the face.

"by the look on my face it didnt go to well did it Lional." She took a deep breath and shook his hand.

"Thank you for all of your help lional, im going to be at the talon for the next hour, its his last chance to see me"

Lional, smiled back quite upset. He goes into his pockets for his keys.

"Let me take you there, its a bit of a walk"

She laughed. And he gave her a friendly smile.

Wait in the car a second, ill be right there. Lional went into the dining room and scribbled a note, then placed it into a neat little yellow envelope. Then went back out to the car.

" Has Clark left?"

"yes , sorry love."

He picked up her suitcase, placed it neatly in the boot and they drove Off. Lex stared out of his office window watching them leave with a windswept face.

At the Talon, lional passed issabelle her bag out of the car, and gave her a hug.

"You know where i am when you need me, Ill always be there"

He handed her a small smart envelope, and before she could say anything, he had already drove off.

Walking into the talon, Isabelle was greeted with a friendly face.

"Hi isabelle, did you find Lex?"

Isabelle walked over to the corner seat again, and walked away from Lana.

"Isabelle?"

"i just want to be on my own for the minute Please" isabelle told lana softly while staring at the envelope.

Lana smiled and walked off with her coffee tray.

Isabelle slowly opened the letter from Lional, she broke into happy tears as she read it.

Dear Isabelle Luthor,

Thats right, your a Luthor. Luthors dont give up. Keep Running after what you want in life, and your grandad is always here for you. I want you to come and live with us at the mansion for a while, I have had a special bedroom done for you. Please take me up on the offer for at least a week to see how it goes. You needed family. Here I am. Ill come to pick you up at 8pm, if you decide to come with me. Many Wishes. See you Soon . Love L L

Isabelle heard someone open the doors of the Talon..She looked over in hope. But it wasnt lex like she hoped. Isabelle Picked up the letter and head for the desk.

"Hi isabelle, feeling better?" Lana passed her a nice hot cup of Tea with a smile and tried to get isabelles attention.

"Thank you Lana, i t was really nice meeting you. Im not in town for long, but thanks for your friendship"

"do you want to talk about it? Im ready to listen if you do,"

"I dont think i should, Lex wants to keep it all hush i think" Isabelle bites her tounge knowing she shouldnt of said it.

"Lex? You found him then, i hope everythings okay"

"As good as it can get, In lex's Life anyway, Lex is just a self centred spoilt rich kid"

"Bit harsh, but i guess you have your reasons" lana looked suprised.

Back at the mansion , Lex was arguing with Lionel.

" You unbeliveable dad, but im glad thats over and done with!"

"Is it Lex? Remember, im unbelievable... its not the last you have seen of her"

"And whats the suposed to mean? You cant force me to be her dad"

Lionel Head for the door and gave lex a cocky smile before he walked out.

Back at the Talon Isabelle was finishing her cup of tea and getting ready to leave.

"Lana, thanks for everything."

"I Hope to see you again Isabelle"

"Im not sure im going to come back" Isabelle gave her a hug and a warm friendly smile.

As isabelle Head for the door, Lionel rushed in.

" Not leaving are we Isabelle?"

" I dont see Lex behind you so it seems that way, Im sorry"

Isabelle tried to walk past Lionel, but he stopped her.

"One Night at the mansion, just to make lex see sense."

Isabelle Paused for a moment, full knowing it was what she wanted.

"One night Lionel"

Lional picked up her bag and head for the car with his arm around her shoulder.

On the way to the mansion, Isabelle had a worried Look on her face.

"Its okay Isabelle, he cant deny you forever, not if im there any way"

When they arrived, isabelle got out of the car and stared at the Mansion with happiness. She pictured it as her home, whith a happy family who cared for her and she felt determined to make it work. Lionel shown isabelle to her huge bedroom. Isabelle was shocked.

"o my. this my room?"

"For as long you like, Ill let you get settled and will be up in 10 minutes to show you to dinner"

Lionel head off to Lex's office. When he arrived Lex was perched on his chair

"what do you want dad? im busy"

"Dinner in 10 lex, dont be late"

" sure dad, dont let the door hit you on your way out"

Lex had no idea what his dad was up to, he had too much on his mind to even bother about it.

Lionel knocked on Isabelles bedroom door.

"ready for dinner isabelle?"

"Yes just coming"

Isabelle came out of her room dressed in something smart and presentable, and lional was very impressed.

"Proper Little Luthor" Laughed Lional.

When they both arrived to the dining area lionel shown Isabelle to her seat next to his. Isabelle had noticed the extra dinner layout.

"Lex is coming? Does he know im here yet?"

"Yes he' coming and.."

Lional was interupted by Lex, who just walked through the doors.

"no Isabelle, dad failed to mention you were having dinner with us, its usally just family at dinner"

"im sorry lex, im not here for long, I dont want to intrude "

Lex Looked realised what he said had hurt isabelle and regretted it.

"Im sorry i , was out of place saying that Isabelle."

There was harldy no words spoken during Dinner, and when they had finsished lex suprised both isabelle and Lional by inviting Isabelle up to his office for a 'talk'

"Urm, sure lex. "

they both head for his office and lex couldnt stop Looking over at his daughter on the way up.

"Please Isabelle have a seat"

He pointed to the chair oppisite his.

Isabelle immeditly felt awkward like he was down at her Or like she was in a priceaples office being told off.

"Isabelle, i really dont understand what you want from me, Im not cut out to be a dad"

"lex im here because i was looking for family and your it, My mother registered me under as a luthor,i dont know why ans I dont know if you knew that, But your dad made it clear that Luthor means Something."

" isabelle, my dad hasnt always been there for me, I dont want to be a failure Like...

Isabelle stood feircly and rudly interupted him

"Look lex, Just because your father hasnt been everything you wanted, It doesnt mean that you are going to be the same as him. You not as liked as you think you are lex, This has been hard for me as it is, and your constant wining doesnt help, Your father is treating me like family, why couldnt you just pretend to like me?"

"isabelle, that was very un nessesary"

"Ill be in my room Lex, And ill be gone by morning

As isabelle head to her room, Lional stopped her.

"thanks for letting me stay but he made it clear he doesnt want me here"

"dont worry about him, stay. Ill look after you. And you dont even have to see Lex."

"Ill think about it, this has all been too much for one night. ill see you in the morning, Goodnight Lionel."

She closed her bedroom door behind her head for bed.

In the morning, Isabelle was woke up by a roar of a car. She looked out her window and saw lex leave and realised it was safe to Go and see Lional. She got dressed and went to look for him. It took a while but she eventually found him in his study. She tapped on his door and he waved her in.

"Morning Lional, urm, can we talk."

"Sure, whats up"

"im going to take you up on your offer, if thats Okay"

"your going to stay?"

Isabelle Nodded

" thats great news!"

Isabelle smiled awkwardly.

"Get your coat Isabelle, were going out to breakfast, My treat"

"Can we go to the Talon?"

"Sure" Lional dug in his pocket for his keys and the both head for the car. On the way to The Talon, Lional was suprised and glad to see Isabelle Smiling at long last.

When they arrived at the Talon, They were both greeted with happy and not so happy faces. Lex and Lana were going over some work at the desk. Isabelle noticed a slight smile reaching Lex's face, or so she thought. Lex stormed over to Lional

"Dad? A word."

" This wont take a minute Isabelle"

While lex walked outside with Lional, Isabelle nervously sat down in the corner table, nervously waiting for them to come back in.

"i Think you owe me an explanation"

"You dont want to know isabelle but i do son."

"shes nothing to do with you so back off"

"O but lex, shes everything to do with me, shes my granddaughter and unless you want people thinking your a terrible father you better own up to it too, shes your daughter"

"a terrible father eh, Like you"

Lionel brushed past lex and went back into the Talon, leaving lex outside. He joined Isabelle at the table and Lana came over to take there order.

"Hey Mr Luthor, Hey Isabelle everything Okay?"

Lional smiled at Isabelle,

"Everythings Fine, can we get two coffees please"

"Coming up"

The Talon doors swung open feircly, and lex walked in with his hands tucked into his pockets. He looked over at Lional and Isabelle and head towards the desk he was working at.

Lana head off the Lionals table to give them there drinks

"Hey isabelle, i didnt think i would see you again"

"Things changed havent they Isabelle?" Lional Told Lana

"for the best, you havent seen the last of me for a while Lana"

Lana left them be and went over to join Lex.

Lex handed Lana a huge pile of papers.

"Have these filed for me, ill pick them up tomorro"

As he was leaving he looked back at his traitor father, and felt even more anger than before.

Lex decided to go and see Clark, the only person he could really trust. When he arrived he found clark in his barn.

"Hey Clark, Busy?"

"Not really, whats up?"

"I need advice Clark, I told isabelle i kinda didnt want anything to do with her."

"Thats Harsh lex"

"you think i should of welcomed her with open arms?"

"No, but you should of at least given her a chance, Its not her fault", Laughed Clark

"what am i supossed to do now? hes only invited her to stay with us to get back at me."

"Shes Living with you Lex?"

"Dad fixed up a bedroom for her, look you want to come back to mine for a bit,"

"Sure"

When clark and Lex arrived at the mansion, they head for Lex's Office, but before they could get there, lionel stopped them.

"I need you in you in my study lex"

Lex Pushed his dad aside violently,

"Im busy"

"Lex its important.."

Lex turned around with an attitude.

"Five minutes Dad, Clark you coming"

"sure Lex"

Lex wasnt amused when he arrived into his fathers study.

"Isabelle, what do you want" Lex demanded

Isabelle stood up as soon as he walked in.

" I want you to accept me as your daughter Lex, Its your last chance. I am not going to come asking again"

" I guess that means your leaving then"

Clark was confused, he just had a conversation, and he thought Lex changed his mind.

Isabelle laughed to herself as Lex was about to walk out.

"and whats so funny isabelle" Lex asked

"Im staying, weather you accept me or not, Lional has accepted me into your family, and im gonna try be part of it, best i can"

Lex looked her in the eye with anger, like they were playing the same game against eachother, except she was winning.

"Lex, dont make it difficult" Lional instructed him

As lex walked out of the office he yelled back to his Dad..

"You are unbeliveable!"

"Thank you" Lional muttered to himself

Isabelle broke down into tears, which she had been holding back for too Long."

Clark rushed over to her and held her in his arms.

"Just give him time, isabelle. Lionel would you mind if i took isabelle to the Talon for an hour?"

"I would Like that clark" Isabelle forced a smile.

"sure clark, you want a lift there?"

Clark gave him a nod, while he held his arm around Isabelle to comfort her. He had even forgotten why he came over.

When they had finally arrived at the talon, lional agreed to pick isabelle up in an hour. They were greeted by a very busy Lana, with a pile of paper work to do. Isabelle Liked the Talon, she was always greeted with a smile even when lana was at her busiest.

"hey you guys" smiled Lana

"hey Lana, can you take a break?"

Lana Pushed all of the papers into the counter drawer.

"Im done any way"

Isabelle, and Clark sat on the chairs in front of lanas counter.

"You okay Isabelle?"

"Im fine Lana, looked like alot of paperwork there, you were working on that earlier, took that Long to finsh?"

"Lex will apologise for giving it to me tomorro, he was just in a bad mood today, and between you and me, i havent finished it yet!."

Lana and Isabelle laughed together like two little school girls would. and got into a gossip mode. Clark saw one of his friends walk in and used that excuse to let Lana and isabelle get to know eachother.

"Ill be back in a minute girls, Ill let you gossip." Smiled clark as he walked off

"So Isabelle, how long are you staying at the Luthors luxsiurious Home?"

"Untill Lex is ready to talk, and accept me, im staying put"

"accept you?"

"Lana? Can you keep a secret?"

"I dont know Iv never been told One" Laughed Lana

"Lex is my Biological father,"

Lana's face dropped in shock.

" hes kinda having trouble accepting it. but Clark knows"

Isabelle felt her eyes welling with tears and a lump in the back of her throat, but she held the tears back.

"lex kinda doesnt want to know me at the minute"

Lana Looked confussd

"How come your still staying at the luthors then"

"Lionel Luthor asked me to, he said Lex will come around."

"well if you Ever need any one to talk to now, you know who to come to."

Lana and Isabelle continued to talk while Clark was contastly looking over, checking on issabelle. About half hour later isabeele picked up her coat getting ready to go.

" Lana, Im going to get Lional to pick me up now. can i use the phone?"

"sure"

Lana walked off to see clark and left Isabelle to make her call.

"Kept that one quiet Clark." Lana said while looking at Isabelle.

"Sorry Lana wasnt my place to say anything"

"I know Clark, think Lex will come around? I sure hope he does"

"Not sure, but i hope so, what ever happens lionel will always have her in the family and we'll look out for her wont we."

"Sure clark, but dont you think lexis gonna be upset with you over this"

"Like we said, lets hope he'll come around"

Isabelle put down the phone and walked over to clark and lana.

"Lionel will be here In 5, you coming Clark?"

"sure isabelle, Bye lana"

"bye"

"Bye lana and cheers"

"Cheers for today clark, your a good freind"

Clark put his arm around Isabelle,

"No problem"

Lana looked on at clark and isabelle, having suspisious thoughts.

Lionels car pulled up outside the Talon

"Hey Clark, Lex has been looking for you." Laughed Lionel.

Clark laughed along with him..

"I forgot about him!"

They both got in the car, and lionel noticed how happy Clark made Isabelle.

As Isabelle and clark got out of the car at the Mansion, lionel asked clark to wait, so he could chat with him.

"Clark, im glad you took Isabelle out today, she is alot happier around you"

"shes a nice girl Mr Luthor, and i think she needs a chance to show that to lex."

While Clark and Lional were talking ouside, Lex was up in his office staring out the window at them.

" i had better go and see lex"

Clark went sraight in but lionel looked up at the window where lex was, full knowing he was watching the whole time.

On the way to Lex's office, clark passed Isabelle.

"Hey, thanks again for today clark, same time tomorro?"

Clark Laughed,

"Its a date!"

Clark wondered off to speak to lex and found him sulking in his office.

"Got yourself a date, eh clark, where have you been all afternoon?"

" i was just trying to cheer Isabelle up, every time you finish with her, she ends in tears Lex"

"Doesnt mean you have to pick up the peices , she is my dads guest..and

"and she is your daughter lex, i really do have to agree with your dad on this one."

Lex shook his head, and head over to his drinks cabinet.

"lex, we taked about this ealier, i thought you were going to give her a chance"

"I was going to, but i saw my dads smug look on her face, i couldnt bring myself to do it."

"Forget Lionel, this is about you and her, , what do you really want?"

Lex paused

"i dunno, but its even harder with her staying here"

"I can have her styaing over mine for a while, if it makes it any easier"

"i cant ask you to do that clark,"

"Ill speak to her, ill see what she thinks, Be right back"

Clark smiled at Lex and swiftly walked out the doors, while lex sulked back into his chair.

'knock knock' Clark tapped at Isabelles bedroom door

"hey clark, come in, what can i do for you"

"hi isabelle, me and lex were talking and i think it will be easier for him if you stayed at mine for a while, you know let him have his space"

"Are you sure thats ok Clark?"

"Yer it will be great, Ill come by and pick you up tomorro morning okay?"

"Thanks clark, ill see you tomorro"

Clark gave isabelle a hug and a warm friendly smile and head back to report the great news to lex.

Clark entered his office smiling,

"Good news Lex, im picking her up in the morning."

Lex suddenly cheered up

"thanks clark, this is gonna be so much easier on all of us"

Lex stoodup and gave clark a friendly on his back,

"your a good mate clark kent, never give up on me"

"i havent yet have i" Laughed Clark

While Lex and clark chatted away in the office Lional was on his way to see Isabelle. He tapped a soft knock on her door..

"Can i come in?"

Isabelle turned her head rapidly thinking it was lex

"Sure, feel free"

"How are you settling in?"

"Im really happy here, but for the best im going to stay with clark for a while,"

"thats fine, as long as your happy"

Lionel smiled and walked out and left issablle to pack her things.

"Right lex im off..ill see you in the morning."

"cheers clark"

As clark and lex were leaving the office, isabelle was coming out of her bedroom, she smiled over at them, and managed to get one back from Lex. Isabelle was thrilled.

The following morning,while Isabelle was making her self look presentable for when Clark came to pick her up there was a knock at her door, She opened it smiling,

"clark your early.. "

But when she opened the door, she realised it wasnt Clark at all, it was lex. Isabelle was stunned and didnt really know what to say.

"Clark called, he said he is running late so i offered to take you over, that ok"

"Sure, Ill just be a minute Lex"

"Ill wait in the car"

Isabelles Heart beat harder than ever, it was the only conversation she had with lex that didnt end in an argument. As she got to Lex's car, she felt nervous as she had no idea what to say to him.

"Thanks for the ride Lex"

"Sure, least i could do"

They didnt say another word untill they got to Clarks Place. They were both glad to see a friendly face and make conversation.

Clark helped Isabelle out the car with her bags.

"Thanks Lex, i owe you."

"Yer sure...ill pop round and see you later Clark"

Isabelle gave lex another smile,

"Bye Lex"

and she got yet another one back.

"Welcome home, for as long as you need" Clark smiled at her.

"its lovely clark"

As she walked in she was greeted by Martha And Jonathon, Clarks Parents. Isabelle went over to shake there hand.

"and you must be isabelle, Hi im Martha, is this is my husband Johnathon"

"glad to meet you both, thank you for letting me stay here on such short notice"

"It will be nice to have you around" Martha smiled at her and clark took Isabelles bag and shown her to her room.

"Sorry its not as big at lex's Place" Laughed Clark

"its fine clark and your parents are lovely"

Clark let Isabelle get settled and went to get the table ready for lunch.

"Mum, you sure you dont mind isabelle staying here for a while"

"corse i dont clark, lay the table son."

" I sure hope lex comes round, i think isabelle is feeling preety rejected at the moment"

"We'll look after her Clark" Martha smiled at him.

Back At Lex's home Lionel was questioning Lex.

"whats the real reason shes staying at clark's Lex?"

"Just give me time, its easier this way and shes taken a liking to clark"

"but if she was here, you can talk to her, get used to her being around."

"Dad, this is my problem now so back off."

"shes going to get tired of running for you soon lex" then lional walked off.

Isabelle was helping to clear the table after Lunch when Clark got a phone Call

"Mum that was pete, Im going to go over his"

"you want a lift clark, i got to get to work at the Talon anyway,"

"Sure,oh, Isabelle are you going to be okay here. Dads just outside in the barn"

"Ill be fine clark, go ahead, lionels comin over soon anyway"

Isabelle continued to potter around the house doing what she can, making herself helpful. ABout 5 minutes after Clark and Martha had left there was a knock at the door. Isabelle thought it was clark.

"Clark i said i was.."

As she opened the door she soon realised it wasnt.

"You going to let me in?" Smiled Lex

Isabelle stood aside to let him pass.

"clark here?"

"No lex he isnt, hes gone to pete's and marthas at work. so.."

Lex sat down at the table, and made himself comfortable, Isabelle sat next to him awkwardly.

"How you settling in here"

Issabele Laughed,

"only been here a couple of hours lex, but everyones being real nice"

"unlike at my place then eh"-

Lex kicked himself as soon as he said it, And isabelles face dropped

"Im sorry i didnt mean that"

There was the sound of a car pulling up outside, both lex and isabelle looked out the window. They had very opposite reactions.

"Lex your going to have to go, lional is taking me shopping" isabelle looked at the door and nodded then looked back at lex.

"i know when im not wanted"

"Dont worry lex, youv made me feel like that everyday since i got here, you'll get used to it"

Isabelle opened the door for lex and stood aside to let him pass and followed him out the door. As lex passed Lionel he gave him a cold Look.Isabelle Smiled at lionel

"Good Morning Lionel"

"What was all that about" Lionel asked while looking over at lex getting into his car.

"came to see clark, was insulting then left" Isabelle laughed, However Lionel looked confused.

"But clark called this morning, told me to tell lex he was out all day. And i told lex about an hour ago"

Isabelles Smile stayed,

"he must be coming around after all" she smiled as she watched his car speed out of the gates. Lionel put his hand on her shoulder.

"Lets go shopping"

An couple of hours later, Lex entered the Talon in hope to find Clark. However, he wasnt any where in sight so Lex head over to the counter to have a chat with Martha.

"hi Lex, can i get you anything?"

"Im fine,but i apologise any inconvinese you have while isabelle is staying"

"Dont worry lex, its fine. shes a lovely girl and i just wish more people would notice that" Martha said, while looked at lex with raised eyebrows.

"Acctually Martha, a coffee would be great thank you." Lex said in a stern voice.

As martha left to get lex's drink Isabelle walked in with a smile on her face. Lex didnt smile but he was chuffed inside. Isabebelle head towards the table Lana was sat at.

"Hey Isabelle, take a seat" Smiled Lana. "Do you want to go somewhere else" Lana asked While looking over at Lex.

"No, its fine Lana. Any way, how have you been?"

Lana and Isabelle continued to gossip while Lex looked on anxtiously.15 minutes later he picked up his coffee and walked over to their table. He tucked his spare hand into his pocket, gave lana a smile then looked over at Isabelle.

"Can i have a word Isabelle"

"um sure" Isabelle Looked at Lana with a confussed smile on her face, Lana just smiled at her encouragely. Isabelle Stood up and followed lex outside. Lex didnt have a very happy look on his face.

"lets get straight to the point, I dont want you hanging round the Talon any more isabelle"

"but why lex, its not like Im hurting anyone"

"Its more like the things you say, if you know what i mean, " Lex head towards his car.

"If you dont want to see me lex, then tell me this, why did you come over this morning when your dad recived a phone call from clark saying that he wasnt going to be there"

Lex turned around with a grin on his face.

"well you better ask my father about that then, eh isabelle, because i failed to get that message, you will learn not to trust him." As lex was getting in his car he shouted back to her as Isbelles Eyes started to well up as she got her hopes up too high in hope he was going to say something friendly.

"Just stay away"

Isabelles face were full of unstoppable tears, she wiped them away and hurried back into the Talon.

"isabelle?" Lana asked her

"It was nice seeing you lana, i have to go" Isabelle stutterd Picked up her coat and head towards the door. But a hand touched her on the shoulder, Isabelle turned around. It was Martha.

"Isabelle, whats the matter?"

Isabelle wanted to tell her, but she hesitated.

"Ill see you at home Martha" And she pulled away.

Lana joined Martha as she watched Isabelle Leave.

"Lana, what was all that about?"

"Um, lex just took her outside for a talk, by the look of it, it didnt go so well, Ill go talk to her"

"i think she needs some time lana"

Martha was worried, she knew lex too well and didnt want isabelle to keep getting hurt. Isabelle walked back to the Kent Farm to find Clark Sitting at the table crowded over with revision books. Isabelles face was still in a state and clark stood up imediatly to give her a hug, but she passed him and went straight upstairs.

"Isabelle?!"

Isabelle stayed up stairs for the rest of the afternoon and Clark left her be. Late that evening Martha came home in a hurry, accompanied with Lionel.

"clark wheres isabelle?"

Isabelle was just walking down the stairs.

"Im here Martha, whats he doing here?" Isabelle looked at Lionel with Daggers.

"Ill let you two have some privacy, Clark?" Martha Hung her keys up and nodded Clark out, he hesitated on going but left them be.

"I thought you would be glad to see me isabelle" Lionel Sat down, but isabelle just stood by the bottom of stairs galring at him

"dont get comfotable"

"Isa..."

"Lionel why did you lie to me, you said lex knew clark wasnt here, I got my hopes up thinking lex acctually wanted to see me"

"Isabelle, it doesnt really matter" Isabelle Laughed at him

"And i acctually thought i could trust you, I got banned from the Talon, Lex doesnt want me to speak to any of his friends"

"Thats understandable, come on Isabelle"

"It was quite a shock acctually, i thought he was coming round to the idea. Its like you two are at war with eachother. Just dont use me to win"

Isabelle walked over to the front door and opened it. Lionel stood up and walked over to her,

"Isabelle, i didnt mean anything by it"

"You can tell your precious son that he wont have to see me for much longer,"

"Isbelle we can sort this out"

"Lionel, im not going to be your way of getting at lex, I came here to find family. Doesnt look like i have"

Lionel Looked at isabelle apologeticly and left. But she stood by the door to make sure he left.

Isabelle spent the next few days tucked up in the guest room, not eating much and not getting alot of sleep. When ever Martha or Clark tried talking to her, she made very little conversation and wandered off. lionel tried to get hold of her several times, But Isabelle ignored his calls. When isabelle did finally emerge from her room she was greeted by a friendly faced Clark

"Hello you, fancy getting out for bit?"

"Im not really in the mood clark, thanks any way"

"Aww come on, lets go have some fun!"

Isabelle smiled at him,

"Race you to the car"

Clark Hesistated in running faster, and let her win.

"come on , you didnt let me have to win. Im a big girl i can do it on my own"

They both got into the car laughing, as they arrived at the talon Isabelle didnt mention Lex didnt want her there. They were greeted by Marthas smile. They both head towards the corner table where Lana was sat.

"Hey you guys, please sit down"

Isabelle felt very awkward, in hope that lex or lionel wouldnt come in. She just wanted a relaxing last day at smallville, just didnt know how to tell clark.

"Ill go get the drinks"Clark walked over to the front.

"how you keeping up Isabelle"

"Fine thanks, was really nice meeting you Lana"

Lana was confussed

"Not leaving again are you?"

Isabelle just smiled and tried not to make any more conversation with Lana, she was very glad to see clark return with the drinks. She immediatly stood up

"Iv just got to make a phone call" Isabelle walked off to call her social worker

'Hello, can i please talk to Maria Hall please.... Hey Maria? Its Isabelle Luthor here.... Yea Im fine, Im coming home... Yea i did meet him..... No ill talk about it later, just meet me at the other end, im catching the next train... Okay i will'

Isabelle hung up the phone and popped her head around the corner to make sure Clark and Lana were preocupied and wouldnt notice her leaving. She hurried out of the doors and head for the Kents Farm to pack. A few minutes had passed before Clark noticed Isabelle wasnt about, He stood up and looked at the phone.

"lana? wheres isabelle?" Lana stood up and looked around.

"Clark ill call martha" But even before she said it clark was gone

Clark sped home to find Isabelle ont he phone with her suitcase.

"Whos on the phone Isabelle?"

"It was lex's office, I Left a message"

"Saying what ?"

"Just that im leaving and that um, to meet at the station if he wanted to see me, thats all" Isabelle picked up her suitcase, and tried to get past the door with tears down her face. Clark stood in her way

"I cant let you leave like this Isabelle" Isabelle didnt like being told what to do, and picked up an attitude.

"Look clark, im fed up with being told what to do where to go, and being passed round like a parcel. Just move.. Please"

"Im sorry, let me at least drive you there" Isabelle hugged Clark

"Thanks Clark,but Ill be fine. Tell your parents im thankful for having me here"

Clark Stepped aside and let her pass. He called Lana as soon as she left, told her about isabelle and they planned to meet and see her off safely. As Isabelle arrived at the Train station she placed herself on the bench and curled herslef up, with her legs tucked up to her chest. She thought about what had happened over the past few days and if she was making the right decision, or if lex would come and see her, but she had big doubts about that one happening. as she sat and thought about Lex a single tear rolled down her face, she watched it fall to the ground and heard footsteps coming towards her. She didnt look up because she had always got her hopes up too high about Lex.

"Dont cry Isabelle"

The voice of Lionel, Isabelle looked up and saw Lionel smiling down at her,

Isabelle stood up infront of him and smiled back.

"im so sorry Isabelle. you know i didnt want it like this"

"Lionel I just wanted Lex to Love me as his daughter"

Footsteps were heard coming around the corner.

" Dad some privacy?"lex arrived

Lionel walked around the corner.

"Iv come to say goodbye. i owe you that at least, im sorry things turned out this way"

"You have the power to change it lex"

"Lex im not stepping one foot on that train untill you say you cant love me, that you can Never accept me and welcome me into your family."

"Im sorry isabelle, I really am"

"Then say it, just tell me now Lex, tell me you never want to see me again."

"Isabelle, i think thats your train" the roaring sound of a train was heard coming around the corner.

Isabelle picked up her bag and looked him in the eye waiting for a proper answer and Lionel came around the corner.

"I cant Love you Isabelle"

Isabelle burst into tears, and lionels face was totally shocked. Lionel went to hug her. The train came to a halt and the doors opened. Isabelle slowly walked into the train and turned around to try catch one more smile off lex, but it seemed impossible.

"I guess a hug is too much to ask Lex"

Lex lowered his head

"Goodbye Isabelle"

She stood inside the train and found a seat. As the train started to leave she noticed clark and lana running up, she waved them goodbye softly and had streams of tears running down her face.

"Lex what have you done?" Lionel yelled at him.

Lex's face was in total shock he watched the train as it traveled into the distance. Clark ran upto Lex

"Lex whats happened? you cant let her leave like this"

"Shes gone clark, shes finally gone"

"Lex why didnt you stop her?"

"Because .. because i...."

Lex closed his eyes.

"Iv got to be on my own" lex slowly got into his car and sped off home.

Clark stood on the platform upset he couldnt say a proper goodbye.

"Clark, im going to get back to the Talon, you coming?" Lionel had already left and Clark just shook his head.

"Ill meet you there"

Clark was gutted Lex didnt give her another chance. Clark rushed over to Lex's place and found him in his office on the phone

"Lex, you have to go after her, if you dont I"

"I know clark, Iv made a terrible mistake, Luthor Corps helecopter will be here in 5 minutes"

"Your goin.."

"we are going to meet her when she gets off that train clark"

The sound of a very loud helecopter was heard from outside. Clark looked at Lex like a proud Father would, except Lex wouldnt get that from Lionel. Clark and Lex head over to plane, got in and buckled up. Lex Looked up Awkwardly at clark opposite him.

"Clark. i really appriciate the support you have given me,it hasnt been easy you know"

"what are friends for lex?" Clark gave him a friendly smile.

Isabelle was sitting bored in the train, when the quiet sound of the train rocking gently on the tracks was ruined by a wirling of a helecopter. Everyone looked out the train windows, mothers pointed to show their youngsters. Issabelle was the only one who didnt nesseseraly enjoy the view. The helecopter was had bold writing across it, reading Luthor Corp. Little did she know what was in store for her. The Luthor Corp copter landed in a nearby feild as the train was coming to a stop. Lex ran out of the copter and across the feild to the end of the Platform where he watched and waited. As Issabelle collected her bag and stepped off the Train, her social worker was waiting on the bench. She was a very plump woman and never wore a smile. As soon as she saw Issabelle she stood up, didnt offer to carry her bag and didnt ask how she was, not even a hello.

"Come on Isabelle, i have been waiting here for ages, lets go."

Isabelle Put down her heavy bag to get a tighter grip.

"Come on girl, i have a scedule to keep" Her social worker grabbed her by her arm

Isabelle took one look back at the train as it was pulling away and started to walk away with big regrets but heard a familiar voice in the distance. The voice was calling her name and coming closer. she couldnt see who it was through the crowd of people,she was going to give up untill she thought she saw a familiar face at the very back of the crowd. People kept moving and getting in her way so she tugged away and walked through them closer and closer. She was shocked as she got a clear sight of the person.

"Isabelle"Lex gazed at her "I didnt mean it , i didnt mean a word of it" Lex smiled at her

"What do you mean lex?"

"I mean, come and give your Dad a hug"

Isabelle Hesitated

"I cant bear being hurt anymore lex" Lex was worried and walked towards her " And being without a dad kills me"

She ran towards Lex and wrapped her arms around him, he hugged her back.

"Iv been so stupid, Im really sorry Isabelle"

Isabelle Looked up at him with tears of Happiness and clark looked on with a huge grin on his face

"Like Father Like Daugter Lex, Trust me"

"Come Home issabelle, come live with me and dad at the mansion Like a proper family"

A hand grabbed Isabelles shoulder.

"isabelle what are you doing" It was Isabelles social worker Maria.

"Ill handle this" Lex stood infront of Isabelle And went to shake the womans Hand

"Lex Luthor"

Maria ignored his curtosy

"Maria Hall, isabelle is coming with me now, so if you could move.."

"Lex this is my social worker " Isabelle stayed behind Lex,

"Miss Hall ,Isabelle is my resposibility now, there will be no need of your assistance in this matter"

"I dont think she is, you cant adopt this child, she has a care home waiting for her"

"Why would i have to adopt her? Im her Father."

"I cant let you just take her, there are procedures to take Mr Luthor"

"your job is on the line Miss hall, i saw the way you were pulling isabelle around. You just better hope i dont say anything"

Lex handed her his card with number on and wrapped his arm around Issabelle.

"Im willing to give this a try Isabelle, if you still are"

"Lex i wouldnt have it any other way"
